Killer Sudoku: a guide for your next round

Read the aim of Killer Sudoku, then make your first move. Fill rows, columns and boxes with 1–9 once. Cage digits cannot repeat and must add to their clue. Use the example below to understand a decision. Choose a comfortable screen position before beginning. Check the relevant rule before repeating a move.

This collection contains 8 puzzles. Progress is saved in this browser. The same puzzle can appear again; the collection is not labelled with calibrated difficulty levels.

Practice beyond the first move

When a decision goes wrong, compare it with the common mistake described below. Start again only when you intend to leave the current round. Use the example to check your reasoning.

The goal to keep in mind

Fill rows, columns and boxes with 1–9 once. Cage digits cannot repeat and must add to their clue. An attractive position is not enough unless the goal is met. Return to the instructions when a step is unclear.

Follow these playing steps

  1. Select an editable cell.
  2. Enter a value using the keypad or keyboard; Notes stores candidates.
  3. Read the region, cage, arrow or outside clues alongside the normal constraints.
  4. Check entries verifies the completed board; Undo reverses your last input.
  5. New puzzle selects another included puzzle.

How to interact with the game

Click or tap cells and the digit pad. Use Notes, Undo and Reveal selected. Large boards scroll inside the game. On a smaller screen, keep the active part of the board within view. Make sure you are interacting with the game rather than the surrounding page.

Follow the example

A two-cell cage labelled 3 holds 1 and 2; a one-cell cage fixes its own value. Apply the same reasoning to the position in your own round. Choose a deliberate next step.

One detail worth checking

A full board must obey every extra rule. Reveal supplies assistance; it is not an earned deduction. A different version of the game may use a different rule. Read one step at a time and try it on the playing area. Match the instruction to the control you use.
