Find your footing in Word Recall

Try Word Recall at your own pace and keep its objective in view. Identify new and previously seen words before losing three lives. Check the relevant rule before repeating a move. Compare the starting position with the example in the Guide. Look at what changes after your first action.

Included vocabulary and random repeats; a game, not a medical memory assessment.

Practice with a purpose

Compare the worked example with your own position. Use the reasoning, not an answer copied from a different board. Notice the feedback after each input.

The goal to keep in mind

Identify new and previously seen words before losing three lives. An attractive position is not enough unless the goal is met. Start with a deliberate move.

Work through the instructions

  1. Read each displayed word.
  2. Choose New word or Seen before.
  3. Remember words from this round only.
  4. Three mistakes end the round.

Choosing and moving on screen

Click or tap one of the two answer buttons. Use the control method described here for this activity. Return to the rules if the result is unexpected.

A useful example

PLANT seen earlier in the same round requires Seen before. Compare this with the rule that governs the move. Choose a deliberate next step.

Pay attention to this rule

A word from an earlier round does not count as seen now. Read the feedback to see why an action did not have the expected result. Locate the buttons and input area before beginning a long round. Use the on-screen labels to avoid an accidental restart.
